PSA: People keep calling AI slop 'digital art' and it drives me nuts
I saw a video on TikTok yesterday where someone typed a prompt into Midjourney, got an image of a cat in a spacesuit, and called themselves a 'digital artist.' They didn't pick a brush, adjust a layer, or even fix the weird six-fingered paw. It's getting posted everywhere as 'art' now, but it's really just a machine doing the work after someone typed 5 words. Am I the only one bothered by how fast people are pretending this is the same as actually drawing something?

Actually I saw this one YouTube channel where a guy generated 47 images in an hour and called it a "collection drop" for an NFT sale. Nobody painted a single pixel but they were selling them for 2 ETH each. The thing nobody talks about is how this devalues actual digital art that took weeks to make. Like I spent 3 days on a single piece for my portfolio last month and someone with a prompt gets called an artist overnight. It just feels like we're letting computers take credit for human skill and calling it progress.

Yeah it's wild how fast that stuff moves, I stopped trying to keep up with it myself.
