That week my feed turned into nothing but liquid metal ASMR

I scrolled past one video of people melting gallium in a spoon and suddenly my whole algorithm was just shiny blobs crushing things for 7 days straight. Every single video had that wet sloshing sound mixed with the squeak of metal on metal, and I couldn't stop watching even though it made no sense. Has anyone else had a niche trend hijack their entire FYP and refuse to leave?

Did you try hitting "not interested" on a few of them? That usually resets my feed after a day or two.

honestly @charlies37 i've tried that like 57 times now and still my feed is 90% people showing off their perfect lives lmfaooo. my algorithm is literally broken because i keep getting served content that makes me feel bad about myself even after i mash that "not interested" button like it owes me money. maybe the algorithm knows i'm secretly jealous and it's just feeding my insecurities back at me lol. at this point i'm convinced the app is just trying to humble me by showing me people my age with houses and careers while i'm over here eating cereal for dinner. i bet your tip works for normal people though, my feed is just cursed.

HAHA man you just NAILED it with that "algorithm knows i'm secretly jealous" part because honestly I used to think people were just dramatic about this stuff. Like come on just scroll past it right? But then my girl showed me HER feed and it was like a totally different app - all cats and gardening videos and happy stuff. Meanwhile mine is just showing me people who graduated college at 19 and bought houses and adopted golden retrievers. I actually think there's something to the whole "feeding your insecurities" theory because the second I even slightly glance at a post about feeling behind in life, my feed EXPLODES with that content. Makes me wonder if the app is literally designed to keep us feeling inadequate so we stay addicted.
