That $700 mixer I bought for mortar last year was a total scam
I dropped $700 on a fancy electric mortar mixer thinking it would save my back on big jobs, but the gearbox seized up after just 3 weeks of use on standard Type S. The company ghosted me when I tried to warranty it, so now I'm stuck with a heavy paperweight in my shed. Anyone else had luck with a specific brand that actually holds up to daily abuse?

...and that's just how it goes with a lot of stuff these days, isn't it? I mean, it feels like everything's made to break way quicker than it used to. My mom always says they don't make things like they did in the 80s, and honestly, I think she's onto something. You pay a premium price and expect it to last, but they're all just cheap gears and plastic inside now. It's a real shame they ghosted you on the warranty too, that's the worst part.

3 weeks and it seized? That's some garbage right there.

That 3 week timeline makes me wonder what solvent or ratio you used though. Run it through a 25 micron screen and see if it's actually trash or just needs a second alcohol bath. Users who treat fresh batches like fragile glass usually end up with better results than people beating on their gear.
