The day I stopped rinsing rice and my whole world shifted
Spent 10 years rinsing white rice until the starch clogged my drain and my Thai neighbor laughed, told me to stop and just cook it directly in the pot. Anyone else had a food habit that was actually making things worse the whole time?

oh man, i did the exact same thing for years! i thought rinsing was like, the law of rice cooking or something. turned out i was basically washing away all the flavor, my rice was always kinda gluey and sad. my girlfriend finally showed me the light, said "just dump it in the pot and shut the lid, it's not a science project.
