My grocery bill went down $80 a month when I stopped buying pre-cut veggies
I mean, I used to grab those bags of chopped onions and peppers because it saved time, but they cost like $4 each. Last month I switched to buying whole veggies and cutting them myself on Sunday. It takes maybe 20 extra minutes and I freeze some for later. Has anyone else found a simple switch that saved way more than they thought it would?

My buddy Mark was spending almost ten bucks a week on those little cups of pre-made guacamole. He started buying avocados, a lime, and an onion instead. He said it costs him less than half now and tastes way better.

Yeah @harpercampbell, a little salt and cilantro changes everything.

Honestly, I get the math, but my time on Sunday is worth more to me. After a long week, I'd rather pay the extra to have that 20 minutes back. For some people that trade-off makes sense, but for me, the convenience is part of the grocery budget.
