Watching pennies for a down payment changed how I see time

Felt like ages just putting a little aside each month... But now that it's done, I realize the wait made me appreciate my home more. Skipping those daily coffees added up faster than I expected.

That's so true what @ryanc71 said... skipping the little stuff each day adds up to a big win, which makes the wait feel worth it in the end.

Can't relate, my 'little stuff' is the snack aisle and it's building my gut instead of my savings.

My wife and I did the same thing for almost three years. It felt endless, but all those skipped takeout nights really did build something.

Three years without takeout? The only thing I'd build is a shrine to the pizza delivery guy I miss.
