Hot take: those simple monthly spreads are not beginner friendly
Everyone says start with a basic month layout, but I spent 2 hours trying to get the box sizes even. Tracing around a ruler made my hand cramp and I still messed up the spacing.

Get you completely. I spent an hour with a ruler and still had lines that looked like they were drawn by a toddler. Simple doesn't mean easy when your hand won't cooperate.

jenny_lane12 I think you're onto something there. It's really about letting go of perfection, which is way harder than it sounds. Those first few spreads are brutal though (mine looked like a geometry disaster).

Nah, I actually think simple spreads are way more forgiving than complicated ones once you let go of perfection.
