Guy in a vintage shop told me I was ruining his dad's old Leica...
Was at this little camera shop off Magazine Street in New Orleans, just asking about a CLA on an old M3 I found at a flea market. Owner comes out from the back, grabs the camera out of my hands, and says 'you're gonna ruin his memory if you try to fix that yourself'. Has anyone else run into weirdly territorial shop owners who treat every old camera like a sacred relic?

I guess his dad's memory is a little fragile if a CLA is going to break it. Maybe they should have put a 'don't touch' sign on it instead of a price tag.

Wait @jenny_lane12, isn't the real issue that they charged a premium for something not even fully serviceable?

Bought a Nikon F from this guy once and he literally followed me around the store for 15 minutes reminding me not to "scratch the prism" lol like man I just want to use it not frame it. Some people act like cameras arent meant to be used.
