Just finished my 100th shutter replacement on a Minolta X-700
I mean, I knew I'd done a bunch, but hitting triple digits made me realize how much I've learned about that specific mechanism. I can practically do it blindfolded now, but I still double-check the curtain tension every single time. Anyone else have a model they've worked on so much it feels like second nature?

That's a crazy number of those shutter jobs. Makes me wonder if Minolta just used a bad batch of capacitors for a decade straight.

But what if @holly_thompson98, they just got really unlucky?

I used to blame user error, but that capacitor theory makes sense.

Oh man, I see this a lot. The capacitor issue is real, but it wasn't a full decade. In my experience, it's mainly the early 2000s Maxxum film bodies, like the 5 and 7. They used these specific capacitors that just fail with age. Your mileage may vary, but that's the usual suspect batch.
