Just realized I've been cleaning sensor dust wrong for 6 months after a guy in Portland showed me a better way

Last month I tried his method using a static brush instead of a blower and it worked way better on my Canon, but I'm wondering if the blower is safer for older cameras with weaker sensor coatings - anyone have experience with both?

That one time I tried the static brush method on my old Nikon and ended up with static cling on the sensor instead of dust. It took me three tries and a YouTube deep dive to figure out I was using the wrong brush angle. Now I just give my cameras a gentle puff and pray the dust gods are merciful.

Oh man, "the dust gods" is right, I have been there too. I tried that static brush method on my Canon and ended up just pushing the dust around like it was a little dirt snowplow situation. After an hour of frustration I finally just gave it a couple gentle puffs and crossed my fingers, worked way better than my fancy cleaning kit.

Haha yeah the static brush is such a gamble. I learned the hard way that a quick compressed air blast (from a safe distance obviously) beats any fancy tool I've ever tried. Less stress, less mess.
