Look at the hammock sag example from the original post. It shows how a small change can fix big discomfort. This applies to so many things, like tuning a guitar or setting up a camping stove. What about the mental sag you get from overthinking a setup? Sometimes the best tweak is to just stop and use the thing for a while.

Man, that reminds me of when I finally got my old bike seat adjusted right. Same kind of relief, just finding that sweet spot. Took me forever to stop messing with it.
