That apology from the comedian who said that awful thing about waitstaff... is anyone buying it?

So like 3 years ago this guy got caught on a hot mic making fun of service workers at a diner in Cleveland. Now he's back with a tearful apology video saying he was 'tired and stressed' that day. But I saw an interview last week where he joked about the same thing again on a podcast. How are people forgiving him just because he dropped a new special on Netflix?

Yeah @grantw41, is the apology supposed to come with a 'good for one free pass' punch card or what? lol Guy's just cycling through the same bit like it's a new season of a show nobody asked for.

...and that's exactly why I can't take this guy seriously anymore. I remember sitting in that diner in Cleveland a few years back, not the one he was at but a different one, and overheard a waiter talking about how this comedian's crew treated them like garbage. It was the same kind of mean attitude, no joke to it. Then he cries on camera and people eat it up like he's a changed man. But the podcast thing you mentioned, yeah I heard that too, it was like he never even stopped. It's all just a game to him, play sad, sell tickets, move on to the next bit. I'm with you, it leaves a real bad taste in your mouth and I don't get how anyone buys it.

I still remember that video from the Cleveland diner, it was hard to watch. The way he talked about those workers felt mean, not like a joke. Then the podcast thing you mentioned, yeah I caught that too. It makes the apology feel fake when you keep doing the same thing years later. To me it shows he didn't actually learn anything, he just wants people to forget so he can sell tickets. I guess some folks are willing to move on for a laugh, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
