My brother said the actor's apology was just PR, but I wasn't so sure

He told me to watch for the 'camera-ready' crying and the specific mention of a brand deal... sure enough, the video dropped last week and it was exactly that. Anyone else have a friend who called a fake apology before it even happened?

Wondering if we hold celebrities to a weird standard sometimes. Sure, it might be a bit staged, but does that make the apology itself worthless? They still put their name on a statement and faced the public. Maybe we just expect too much raw emotion from a prepared video.

That staged crying in the third celebrity apology video this week looked like bad soap opera acting.

The apology video from last month had a full team of crisis PR people listed in the credits. When the statement is written by lawyers and the tears are directed, it feels more like brand management than a real person saying sorry. I just stop believing anything they say at that point.
