Rant: Spent $30 on a tear-jerker analysis course and got played

I paid 30 bucks for a course that claims to read micro-expressions in celebrity apology videos. Thought it'd prove if that actor's apology was fake after his dating scandal. Turns out the course just shows actors crying from old movies. Total waste. Has anyone else bought into gimmicky apology analysis tools?

Did you try looking up the actual research behind micro-expressions before buying? I almost fell for a similar course last year that promised to decode politicians' facial tells. But I dug into it first and found out most of that stuff isn't backed by real science. Your best bet now is to check if your payment method has a dispute option, some credit cards will refund you for courses that are straight up lying about what they teach. And next time stick to free YouTube videos from actual psychologists, they break down apology videos way better without charging you.

Probably matters if the trainer themselves have ever been through an actual interrogation or just read a book about it.

Guess all those YouTube 'experts' got their black belts in lie detection from Google too.
