My grinder burrs took a full month to finally stop tasting bitter

I kept getting this sour, bitter taste from my pour overs, even with good beans from a local Portland roaster. Tried adjusting my grind, water temp, everything. Turns out my Baratza Encore needed new burrs, but the replacement set I ordered online was the wrong size. Had to wait another three weeks for the right ones to ship. Anyone else have a simple fix turn into a huge wait?

My buddy waited six weeks for a new grinder part, it was brutal.

Yeah six weeks is brutal. I had a similar wait for a spindle motor last year. What saved me was calling every local machine shop to see if they had a used one I could borrow as a loaner. Found a guy twenty minutes away who had an old one sitting on a shelf.

Six weeks is crazy, @ryant50. That kind of wait shows how fragile some supply chains still are. It really messes up your whole workflow when a simple part holds everything up.
