My comic book rant cleared the room at a family dinner
I started explaining the multiverse to my cousins and they all left the table. Do you get similar blank stares when geeking out?

Like @harris.andrew said, maybe they just hit their limit on detail. Did you lose them at the multiverse concept or once you dove into the specifics?

Totally get that... my friends do the same thing if I go too deep on anything. Their eyes just glaze over after a minute or two.

Seriously? Were they actually bothered or just done with dinner? My family zones out if I talk too long about anything, not just nerdy stuff. Sometimes people just hit their limit on detailed talk, whether it's comics or tax policy. Might not be the topic, just the depth.
