Unpopular opinion: Tinted mixes do more than just look nice
I mean, I always passed on color because it seemed like a pointless upsell, idk. But after doing a pool deck where the owner tracked temperature data, the lighter shade stayed way cooler in full sun. Maybe it's just me, but seeing that actual difference made me switch gears. Now I mention it for slabs that get baked all day, not just for fancy homes.

I used to skip tint on driveways thinking it was pure looks. After seeing a 15-degree cooler reading on a light gray slab, I get it now. Do you find clients care more about function once they see the data?

But does that actually change their final choice? Most still pick the darker color for looks even after seeing the numbers.

Lol my own driveway is proof of that, sorry @dylan_sanchez.

Yeah, is this getting talked about more now? I read some city was testing lighter pavement to cut down on urban heat islands. Honestly it makes total sense when you see numbers like that. Tbh most homeowners just want things to look good, but dropping real data seems to change the talk fast. Ngl I used to roll my eyes at tint options too.
