My therapist recommended meds, but I read about big pharma ties.
Are they treating symptoms just to keep us dependent?

My therapist pushed meds hard and I was worried too. They helped me function, even if the industry is sketchy.

That part about the industry being sketchy but the meds helping anyway is so real. I see this everywhere now, where we have to use broken systems for things we need. Like how social media is bad for us but it's the only way to stay in touch, or buying from big companies when you know they treat workers poorly. We're stuck choosing between what's good for us and what's right, and it's exhausting. Why does it feel like everything helpful comes with a bad side we have to ignore?

Look into the research yourself. I was scared of big pharma too. My therapist explained how the meds work in the brain. Seeing the science helped me feel better about trying them.

My old therapist got a free vacation from a drug company, that's a real thing that happens. It made me question everything she said. I still take my meds because they work for me, but I get why people don't trust it. The whole system feels dirty even when the pills themselves are clean.
