I was dead wrong about those drone mapping services
For the past 2 years I kept telling guys on my crew that drone mapping was just a flashy toy for big GCs and not worth the money for a small crew like ours. We were doing a 12-acre commercial site near Charlotte and the survey stakes kept getting knocked over. I finally caved and spent $250 on a single mapping flight with a local service and it paid for itself in one day when we caught a grading error before we poured 80 yards of concrete. Has anyone else had that moment where you had to eat your words about a specific tech tool?

Borrowed a friend's laser level one weekend thinking it was overkill for hanging drywall, spent the next three hours ripping out crooked furring strips I'd put up by eyeballing it. Sometimes you don't know how blind you were until someone hands you glasses.

Yeah man same here. Total game changer once I actually tried it.

Honestly I was skeptical forever but once I actually gave it a shot it clicked for me too. Completely different experience than I expected.
