Question about drone surveys for grading work
Three years ago on a site in Phoenix, I thought drone mapping was just for fancy marketing videos. Last week, our crew used one to map a 5 acre lot and the cut/fill calcs were done in an hour instead of a full day. What's the best entry-level drone for a small grading company?

Remember thinking drones were just toys? I felt the same until I saw the time savings on a small site. For starting out, you can't beat the value of a DJI Mini with mapping software.

Saw a grading sub last week where a guy swore by the DJI Mini 3 Pro for this. He said the vertical camera is key for better maps than the older models. The built in flight planning in the newer DJI apps is supposed to be pretty solid for basic grid patterns.

Does the vertical camera actually make a noticeable difference in the final map quality?
