Spent three hours trying to sync a new total station to our site tablet

The Trimble unit kept showing up on the network but the data collector app just wouldn't see it, even after the usual resets. I finally found a buried setting on the tablet to turn off a private Wi-Fi address feature that was blocking the connection. Has anyone else hit this specific snag with newer Android tablets on site?

Oh man, that private Wi-Fi address thing is a NIGHTMARE. I had the exact same fight with a Samsung tablet last month. Took me forever to find that setting buried in the network connection details. Once I turned it off for our site network, everything just clicked right in.

It's the worst when devices hide that setting deep in menus. My work laptop did the same thing and locked me out of the project server for an hour. The feature is supposed to help privacy but it just breaks stuff on managed networks. You have to dig into each Wi-Fi connection's own settings to find the toggle. It feels like they're making basic network troubleshooting way harder than it needs to be.
