PSA: found a whole jar of melted lipstick in a salon chair this morning

I was cleaning up after a busy Saturday at Shear Magic in Portland and pulled out my brush from the chair pocket. There was a half-melted tube of some neon pink lipstick just stuck in there, like it had been baking for weeks in the heat. The client before me must have dropped it and I never noticed, gross. I think our salon AC was set to 78 degrees that day, which probably didn't help. Has anyone else found weird stuff melting in their chair compartments when it gets warm?

Gross, but also kind of impressive that a lipstick managed to fully melt into a puddle like that. That's a new level of salon chair archaeology right there. You should start a found objects display case for the weird stuff people leave behind. Maybe charge admission.

Yikes. The part that gets me is how it's completely smooth and glossy. That's not just melted, that's like liquefied and then resolidified. Makes me wonder how hot those lamps actually get. Gross but also kinda makes me never want to put my purse on the floor of a salon again.

honestly i used to roll my eyes at those "gross stuff from my salon chair" posts like whatever dude just clean it and move on. but this lipstick puddle thing actually changed my mind a little. like yeah its gross but the fact it melted so perfectly into this weird little splat is kind of wild. that took some serious heat or time or both to get that glossy smooth finish. i guess theres a difference between finding a half eaten granola bar and finding something that basically became a science experiment under those salon lamps. still not gonna start a collection but i get why youd want to snap a pic first before wiping it off.

i see what youre saying charlie but i dont think this is that different from a half eaten granola bar honestly lol. like yeah the melted lipstick looks cool but at the end of the day its still some strangers dried up grossness thats been sitting there for god knows how long. the science experiment angle is interesting but i bet if you got close enough youd see little hairs or dust stuck in it too. i dont know something about it being beauty product specifically makes it worse to me. like foundation stains and hair clippings are bad enough but a lipstick puddle is just next level yuck.
