That time I visited a crane rental yard in Tulsa and saw a bird nest on a hook block

I was down at the crane rental yard in Tulsa last Tuesday picking up a spare part for a job. Walked past a big lattice boom crawler and noticed a full on bird nest sitting right on top of the hook block. The operator told me the crane had been sitting for two weeks and a robin moved in like it owned the place. They had to shoo it away before the next rental. Has anyone else had random animals hitch a ride on their gear?

Oh man, that's wild! My buddy found a whole family of mice living in the cab of his skid steer once, they'd chewed through the wiring harness.

Did your buddy ever figure out how they got in? A friend of mine found the exact same thing in his tractor last spring. They had chewed through the main wiring harness and it cost him over a thousand bucks to get it fixed. He ended up setting traps in the cab and leaving the hood open at night to keep them out. Took him weeks to finally get rid of them all.

Holy cow, that wiring harness damage is no joke! @brooke_jones your friend must've been pulling his hair out over that thousand dollar fix, I'd be furious if mice did that to my machine.
