Getting a tax lien removed from my report before buying in Cleveland took 11 months

I had a paid lien from 2019 that the county recorder said was released, but Experian kept reporting it as unpaid. The dispute process with them was a dead end for months. I finally had to get a lawyer to send a demand letter citing the FCRA, which finally got it deleted. Has anyone else hit a brick wall with liens that should have been cleared?

Honestly, that's insane for a paid lien.

Thought disputes worked, but you need a lawyer.

That lawyer move was smart, honestly. The credit bureaus just ignore regular disputes sometimes. I've seen this with old medical bills too, where the hospital already got paid but it still shows up. They only seem to listen when there's a legal letterhead involved. It's crazy you had to go that far for something the county already fixed. Makes you wonder how many people just give up.
