Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to get a password manager set up right?

Honestly, I thought moving to a password manager would be a quick weekend job. Tbh, it took me like three full days to export all my old passwords, clean up the duplicates, and get the auto-fill working on my phone and laptop. The worst part was my online bank, which kept blocking the manager's auto-fill and I had to call them twice to fix it. Has anyone else had a specific site that just fights you on this?

Totally worth the setup hassle though.

I used to think it was just a simple switch too. My credit union's site was the one that made me see how much of a pain it can be.

I read a tech blog that called the setup process "the password manager tax" because of the hidden time cost. My own state's DMV website was the one that broke everything for me, it uses some weird security field that just won't talk to the auto-fill. I had to make a really long, crazy password and just save it as a note inside the manager to copy-paste... it totally defeated the point for a while. That initial hump is real, but once you're over it, it does get easier.
