Bought a refurbished robot vacuum from a random flash site for 80 bucks vs the retail 300 at Best Buy
The retail one actually mapped my house in one pass and didn't get stuck on a sock. The flash site one spent 20 minutes trying to eat a power cord before I gave up. Anyone else gamble on these pop-up deals or am I the only sucker?

Oh man, you're definitely not the only one who's fallen for that. Did you check if the cheap one was actually a refurbished Roomba or one of those weird knockoff brands that sounds like a sneeze? I bought a "smart" air fryer from one of those flash sites once and it literally caught fire on the first batch of fries. The retail version probably has sensors that cost more than your entire vacuum, so you basically paid for a noisy paperweight with wheels. At least you can probably use it as a weird pet toy or something if all else fails.

That's just how it goes with anything cheap on the internet, you end up paying twice to get the real thing.

My friend actually bought one of those knockoff Roombas from a random site and it literally just spun in circles until it died on the third day. I used to think spending more was just for the brand name, but now I totally get it after seeing hers. Like, her cat was more entertained by it than it actually cleaned anything, and she ended up getting a real one anyway. So yeah, I'm with you on this now.
