PSA: My city's recycling numbers were fudged by 40% and nobody caught it

I kept seeing our city's recycling rate at 65% in the news but my neighborhood pickup barely felt half full. Dug into the city's annual report last month and found they were counting industrial scrap from factories as residential recycling. When you pull those numbers out the real rate is like 25%. Anyone else ever catch local stats that don't pass the sniff test?

@emma_wells83 probably the scammers are using local news to look legit, makes it way harder to spot.
