Heard a guy at the coffee shop say he had 14,000 unread emails and felt weirdly proud of it

Isn't that a bit like bragging about how deep the sink is full of dirty dishes though? I feel like we've all been there where the inbox just gets away from us and it's easier to just ignore it. I'd much rather have a clean inbox than a badge of honor for having 14,000 ignored messages.

@violag80 wait though, what counts as a clean inbox to you? Like zero unread or all read with nothing flagged? Because my "clean" might just be hiding everything in folders lmao.

Honestly I think people are missing the whole point here. For me a clean inbox isn't about unread count or folders, it's about whether I can find something in under 10 seconds when I need it. Like I've got zero unread messages but 800 archived emails and that's still clean to me because I know exactly where everything is. The real mess is when you have no system, just chaos hiding behind a low number. So yeah maybe your sink has dirty dishes but at least you know where the plates are lmao.
