Getting a POA done early vs waiting until it's too late - huge difference for my folks
My dad had a stroke last spring and we spent 3 months and about $4,000 in legal fees rushing to get conservatorship because they never signed a power of attorney. My sister did hers a year earlier with a $150 notary visit and when Mom needed help, it took 2 days instead of 3 months. Has anyone else dealt with the nightmare of trying to handle finances without that paperwork ready?

Honestly, my buddy's grandma ended up stuck in a hospital bed for months just waiting on a paper.

That waiting game is brutal. My aunt was stuck in a rehab facility for almost two months because her insurance kept asking for one more piece of paperwork. By the time it all went through, she was so depressed from being stuck there she could barely walk anymore. It's like they forget there's a real person on the other end of that paper.
