Spent $4,200 on a stairlift from a fly-by-night company.

Burned me bad when it broke down after 3 months and they wouldn't answer my calls, has anyone else dealt with a warranty that turned out to be worthless?

Read somewhere that those cheap stairlift companies basically copy the warranty text from legit brands but have no intention of honoring it. The fine print says "limited warranty" and that gives them an out for everything. My neighbor's lift stopped working and their warranty only covered the motor, not the electrical board that actually failed. Cost them almost as much as the lift to fix it.

@emma96 sounds like they're selling lies not lifts

That's the classic "limited warranty" trick - they bury everything in exclusions so the warranty is basically worthless. Your best move now is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau AND your state's attorney general office. I had a similar deal with a cheap lift company and the AG's office got them to at least refund half my repair costs after 3 months of fighting. Also check if you paid with a credit card - some cards have purchase protection that covers you when a company ghosts you after a warranty claim. Just stay on their case and don't let them wear you down.
