Appreciation post: I started keeping a tiny notebook in my pocket to jot down every product reaction a guest mentioned, and after 3 months it saved me from a repeat irritation issue.

A guest last April mentioned a slight tingle with a certain vitamin C serum, so when she came back this week asking about brightening, I checked my notes and avoided it, suggesting an alternative with licorice root instead.

Isn't that the best feeling? I do the exact same thing with a notes app on my phone. I had a client years ago say a foaming cleanser left her face tight, so when her daughter came in with similar skin, I remembered and pointed her to a cream cleanser instead. Those little notes turn into real trust over time.

Yeah, those notes turn into trust... or a really weird diary if someone ever reads it, @ryant50.

Forget the weird diary part, the real risk is your notes becoming useless if you don't write down the "why." @ryant50 remembering the "tight" feeling is the key detail. I've seen people just jot down a product name and then years later they have no clue why they stopped using it. That context turns a random note into something you can actually use to help someone. Without it, you're just looking at a list of names that mean nothing.
