Rant: That $300 LED mask I bought gave me a rash after 2 uses

I saw all the hype on Instagram about those red light therapy masks for anti-aging. Spent $300 on one from a brand my friend swore by. Put it on for 10 minutes two days in a row, and my cheeks broke out in this angry red rash. Has anyone else had a reaction to those? Maybe I'm just sensitive to the silicone or something.

Check if yours has a recall notice - some were giving people chemical burns from defective wiring.

Oh I feel you on that "angry red rash." I had the exact same thing happen with a different brand of LED mask. Turned out it was the silicone itself for me. I actually tried putting a thin cotton cloth between my face and the mask and that helped a lot. But what really worked was switching to a handheld red light device that doesn't touch my skin at all. Still got the light therapy benefits without the reaction. Hope you can get a refund because $300 is a lot to spend on a breakout.

Maybe it's actually the way the light reflects off the silicone that's causing the burn instead of allergy.
