So I mixed a bit of jojoba oil into my clay mask for a dry skin client...

She came in last week with skin that was both flaky and had some redness. I was worried the clay would be too harsh, so I added maybe a quarter teaspoon of jojoba to a normal scoop of my usual green clay. Left it on for 8 minutes instead of 10. It didn't dry rock hard like normal, and when I wiped it off, her skin looked calm and felt soft, not tight at all. I guess the oil stopped the clay from pulling out too much moisture. Has anyone else tried tweaking a drying mask like this for sensitive or dry types? What did you use?

That's a smart move. Read somewhere that a bit of honey can work the same way in a clay mask for extra dry spots.

Read somewhere" doesn't exactly sound like a solid skincare plan to me.

Honestly, how do you even mix honey into a clay mask without making a huge sticky mess? I used to think it sounded like a terrible idea for that exact reason. But I tried it once when my skin was super flaky, and you just warm a tiny bit of honey in your hands first. It actually blends in okay and leaves those dry patches way softer. Totally changed my mind on it.

Nah, I still think it sounds way too messy for me.
