Just hit 500 hours logged on my rock tumbler and I'm honestly shocked

I bought this cheap Lortone 33B three years ago for a small project. I started keeping a log just to track grit changes and water levels. Honestly, I opened the notebook today and the total was 512 hours. That's like 21 straight days of this thing running in my garage. I guess I got way more into polishing agates from Lake Superior than I thought. Anyone else ever add up their machine time and get a weird reality check?

That's basically a full month of your garage sounding like a tiny construction site. Hope your power bill didn't get the same reality check.

Yeah, the power bill shock is real. I felt the same way Quinn did at the start, wondering what I'd gotten into. It's a legit concern when you're running heavy tools non-stop for that long. The final result has to be pretty amazing to make up for those weeks of noise and cost.

Honestly thought it was a huge waste of money at first. The noise and power use were a real pain for weeks. Seeing the final setup totally changed my mind though.
