Vent: A bad seal on a big storefront job cost me a client last month

Last month in Springfield, I put in a 12-foot tempered glass panel for a new cafe. I used a standard silicone, but we had a cold snap right after. The seal shrank and cracked at the corners within a week, letting water in. The owner called me back, furious about the streaks on his new wall. I had to eat the cost of a full redo with a low-temp formula. Has anyone found a sealant that holds up better in quick weather changes?

Actually, that cold snap was the real problem.

Man, that cold snap story is brutal. Weather turning like that can wreck even a good seal. I feel for you having to redo the whole panel.

Hold up, redoing the whole panel sounds extreme. A cold snap messes with curing, sure, but a good seal should handle some weather swing. Maybe the prep was off, or it was applied too thin? I've seen jobs hold through worse. Not saying it's easy, but @lewis.brian, calling it a total wreck might be jumping the gun. Sometimes you can fix a bad spot without starting over.
