I mean, it was at a place in Chicago, and the guy just said 'it looks right' and sent it. Idk, maybe it's just me but that seems like the most basic rule you learn day one. Has anyone else run into this lately?

Our new site scanner in Omaha kept thinking a porta-potty was a building corner

We were mapping a foundation with a Trimble X7 last Tuesday, and every single scan kept adding this phantom corner point. Turns out the shiny blue plastic of the john was throwing the laser off so bad it registered as a solid wall edge (the crew got a good laugh calling it the 'throne room addition'). Has anyone else had a scanner get tricked by something silly like reflective plastic or a puddle?

I thought those scalp scrubbers were just a fad, but my client's results proved me wrong

For months, I kept seeing those silicone scalp massagers everywhere and thought they were just another gimmick. A regular client of mine with fine, oily hair bought one on a whim and used it for two weeks before her color appointment. When she came in, her scalp was noticeably less flaky and her roots felt cleaner, even though she hadn't changed her shampoo. She said it helped her product buildup so much she could go an extra day between washes. I'm honestly surprised a simple $8 tool made that much of a difference. Has anyone else tried these with their clients, and what shampoo do you pair it with for the best clean?

Pro tip: I finally learned how to pack my tent the right way

I was always just stuffing it in the sack after a trip, which took forever. A friend in Bend pointed out my tent poles were bent from the pressure, and showed me how to fold it loosely first. How do you guys pack your tents to avoid damage?

Update: I stopped using a full brush on every job and it cut my time in half

Everyone says you need to run the whole brush from top to bottom for a proper clean, but last month I had a tricky flue in an old Boston triple-story. I just used a heavy-duty whip head and a good vacuum from the bottom, focusing on the main blockage. The inspection camera showed it was just as clean as a full brush job, and I saved over an hour. Has anyone else found that a full brush sweep isn't always needed for modern liners?

She was from out of town and said her local baker back in Austin makes a loaf that's chewy and open but tastes almost sweet. I tried explaining my starter's feeding schedule, but she just shrugged and said 'I guess it's just your house yeast.' It got me wondering, how much of the final flavor is really down to the baker's specific environment versus the process?
