Six fingers just means you got extra value for your money.

inMy wife and I spent last weekend arguing over whether to start 'Severance' or 'The Bear' and I'm still not sure we picked right.
Tbh the review you read about The Bear being "more stressful but in a fun way" is spot on. That first episode is pure chaos in the kitchen and it never really lets up. But Severance isn't just a puzzle show you have to pay attention to, it's a whole mood. The office in that show feels so quiet and creepy it gets under your skin. Honestly they're both amazing but in totally different ways.

inI used to swear by room temp butter for cookies, but now I go straight from the fridge
Man, that's how all the old recipes are! They assume you just know the basics. My mom's cookbook says things like "a good lump of lard" or "bake in a quick oven." It's like they were writing reminders for themselves, not teaching someone else. Makes you realize how much cooking knowledge used to just get passed down in person.

inMy old way of asking for a raise was basically just hoping my boss would notice my work
How do you even start that talk without feeling awkward? I used to be the same, just hoping they'd see it. What finally worked for me was booking a real meeting, not just catching them in the hall. I went in with three solid examples of money I saved or brought in, just like you did with that project. I said straight up I was there to talk about my pay because of that work. Having the numbers ready made it a fact, not just a feeling. It felt scary but it turned a maybe into a yes.

inMy air fryer chicken wings turned into a two-hour project because of one rookie mistake.
Two hours for wings seems a bit much.
