Hit 10,000 crimps last week without a single bad connection - still shocked

I was doing a wiring overhaul on a King Air 200 in Tulsa, just a routine panel swap. Got to counting my crimps out of boredom and realized I passed 10,000 without a single failure. That felt huge because I've been doing avionics for 8 years and my first year I had like a 5% reject rate on bad crimps. Has anyone else tracked their personal stats like that and hit a number that surprised you?

Did a buddy of yours ever have one of those... uh... career moment things? My old partner Dave, he was wiring up a Cessna 172 for a flight school and he popped off like 8,000 crimps without a problem. Then he got cocky and started bragging about it on the hangar floor. Next day he found three bad ones in a row on a weather radar install and had to redo the whole harness. Never heard him brag again after that.

I read Dave's story on Avionics Talk last month.

Figured as much. Dave's always been a lesson in humility for the rest of us.
