That $15 rice cooker I bought 8 years ago is still going strong
I picked up this little Rival rice cooker at a thrift store back in 2016 for $15. It was one of those impulse buys, you know? Figured I'd use it a few times and it'd end up collecting dust. But honestly, it's saved me so much money over the years. I make rice for stir fries, use it for overnight oats sometimes, even steamed veggies in it. The nonstick lining is scratched up (oops) and the lid doesn't close tight anymore, but it still cooks perfect rice every time. My friend just bought a $80 fancy one with timers and settings and hers burnt the rice last week. Has anyone else had a cheap appliance that just refused to die?

Ever tried putting a new lid on it from another cheap cooker?

My buddy bought a cheap rice cooker at Walmart in 2010 and it still works like new.

Oh man, that scratched up lining is a badge of honor... and @anthonynelson's buddy proves the cheap ones really do last.
