A client in Austin insisted I use pocket screws for a solid oak table frame
He was sure it was stronger than mortise and tenon, even after I showed him the test data from my old shop teacher. I built it his way, but I still think a proper joint would have been better for a piece that size. Do you ever give in on a method you know is wrong just to keep the job?

Oh man. The client is always right, even when they're totally wrong. Hope that table holds his Thanksgiving turkey.

My uncle's table collapsed under a honey baked ham last year.

Forget the client being right, they're just wrong on this one. Pocket screws on solid oak for a big table is asking for trouble with seasonal movement. You were right to push for a proper joint, and I'd have walked if they insisted.
