Am I the only one who gets fed up with how long it takes to get lumber delivered right?

I had a job last week where the wood showed up two days late, and it was all warped from sitting on a damp truck bed. Now I'm behind schedule and the client is annoyed. This isn't the first time, either. Half the deliveries I get have moisture damage or the wrong cuts, and the suppliers just shrug. It feels like nobody cares about quality control anymore. I spend more time fixing their mistakes than doing actual carpentry. As someone who drives for a living, I know logistics can be tight, but this is just lazy. It's wasting my time and money on every single job.

Can suppliers even check orders before shipping?

Take photos of damaged goods and refuse delivery on the spot.

Last Tuesday, I had a package arrive with a dented corner. Refusing it right then would have left me with nothing and delayed everything. Many suppliers have good return policies where you just send photos later. If you refuse delivery, the carrier takes it back and you have to start over. Sometimes the damage is minor and you can still use the item. It is often easier to accept it and deal with the supplier directly.
