Switched from a French press to a pour over setup and it's a game changer

Honestly, I always thought my French press made a good enough cup, but my friend brought over a Hario V60 last month and insisted I try it. I finally bought one for myself, along with a gooseneck kettle, and tried it out this morning. The coffee tasted way cleaner and brighter, without any of the grit I used to get. Has anyone else made a switch like this and found it totally changed their morning routine?

That clean taste is exactly what got me hooked on pour over. My old French press always left a weird film at the bottom of the mug that I just got used to. The switch felt fussy at first with the whole slow pouring thing, but now the routine is kind of the best part of my morning. It forces me to slow down for a few minutes instead of just slamming coffee. The gear can become a whole rabbit hole though, I've already bought three different kinds of paper filters to test.

Wait you bought three kinds of filters just to test them? Honestly that's a level of coffee dedication I don't think I've reached yet.

Honestly it's just paper at the end of the day, right? Like does the difference even matter once you add milk and sugar? Seems like a lot of work for a drink you finish in ten minutes.
