Wasted $80 on a 'universal' DPF pressure sensor that didn't fit

I was in a rush and grabbed one off the shelf at the parts house, assuming it would work on a Duramax. The connector was wrong and the threads were off, so I had to order the right one anyway. Anyone have a go-to brand for sensors that actually match the specs?

Wait, you just grabbed one off the shelf without checking the part number first? I've been burned by those universal boxes too, they're almost never right. For a Duramax you really need the exact OEM number or you're just throwing money away. I stick with AC Delco for sensors on mine, they haven't let me down yet.

Totally agree, and @sagestone's story proves even the fit can be wrong.

Remember that time I tried to save twenty bucks on a generic O2 sensor for my old Silverado? Spent a whole Saturday putting it in, cleared the code, and the light came back on before I even left the driveway. The fit was sloppy and the connector felt cheap. Now I just pull the old part out and match the numbers right there on the counter.
