Got my mom's advance directive notarized after 6 months of putting it off
I finally took her to the bank last Tuesday and we got it signed in 15 minutes after spending 6 months dodging the topic every time I visited her apartment in Portland.

Six months of dodging the topic is actually pretty impressive, I think I'd have to go for a world record in procrastination before my mom finally dragged me to the bank herself. Glad to hear it only took 15 minutes once you got there, that's way less painful than the six months of guilt I'd have piled up instead. Congrats on getting it done, now you can actually enjoy visiting her without that awkward elephant in the room.
