Warning: I tried a new way to apply a chemical peel that actually saved my hands
My knuckles were getting so dry and cracked from constantly wearing gloves and washing. I started using a tiny bit of my own barrier cream on the back of my hands before I even put the gloves on for a 30% glycolic treatment. It sounds simple, but it made a huge difference overnight. Anyone have other tricks for protecting your skin from all the constant washing?

My friend who works in a kitchen had the same cracked knuckle problem. She started putting a thin layer of plain old petroleum jelly on them before bed and sleeping with cotton gloves. She said it was like a miracle cure after a few nights. Why don't they teach these simple fixes instead of just selling us expensive creams? Her hands look completely normal now.

Ever notice how the best fixes are the ones that break the rules? Like you're not supposed to put lotion under gloves for a peel, but it works. I see this with my car too, using a tiny bit of hand soap to get bugs off the windshield when the fancy cleaner fails. Makes you wonder what other simple hacks we're missing because we follow the instructions too closely.

Cracked knuckles are annoying but it's not a medical emergency. People act like dry hands are the end of the world.
