I thought those new composite fence posts were just overpriced plastic junk until I saw a 5-year-old install in Galveston.

Yeah, that tracks. Read an article a while back about inspectors after a big storm. They said a lot of those composite fences were still in the ground, but the panels themselves were shredded or warped so bad they were useless. Standing doesn't mean working. It's like a car with no wheels still being on its axles.

Honestly, my neighbor's composite posts are a mess. They faded to a weird gray in just two years and the top caps keep popping off in the heat. They're standing, but they look rough and cheap now.
