Rant: My phone's screen went totally black at a concert in Nashville, and I couldn't call a ride.

I was in the middle of a huge crowd and my Pixel 7 just overheated and shut down, so now I always carry a cheap backup power bank that I got for $12.

Ever wonder why phones seem to overheat more now? I read that the newer, faster chips can get really hot when you're using the camera a lot or have bad service, which is exactly what happens at a packed show. Your power bank fix is smart, but I also heard that shutting down extra apps and turning off Bluetooth before you go can help a little. It's crazy that we even have to think about this stuff just to have a working phone.

Ugh, it's like a full time job now.

Right? It feels like we're all part-time tech support for our own stuff now. AnthonyNelson is onto something with the app shutdown tip, but even that's just another chore. The real pattern is everything needs constant babysitting, from phones to smart home gadgets that just stop talking to each other. You buy a thing to make life easier, but then you're managing its moods and battery life forever. It's less like owning tools and more like tending to a bunch of needy little robots.

Wait, turning off Bluetooth actually helps? That's wild. Amyb56 is right, it's a full time job just keeping the tech alive. My phone gets so hot sometimes I'm scared it'll melt. They pack all this power into a tiny glass slab and then act surprised when it cooks itself.
