A chat with my stylist friend changed my view on razor cuts.

They can be safe if you know the right angle.

Totally depends on the stylist's skill. A good one uses the razor like any other precision tool. It's all about technique, not the blade itself.

Wait, they actually use straight razors for that? I always assumed it was just regular trimmers or something. That’s wild to think about, a literal razor near your head. I guess if you know what you’re doing it’s fine, but man, that takes some serious confidence in your hands.

Oh man, I read an article about this once. It said a sharp razor actually pulls LESS on the hair than dull clippers. So the right tool with the right skill is safer, not scarier. Makes total sense now.

It's funny how many things work like that. You see the same idea with kitchen knives or even power tools, where people blame the object instead of the skill of the person using it. A sharp blade in careful hands does exactly what you need. But put it in the wrong hands and everything gets messed up. We're quick to call something dangerous when really it's just about knowing the method. Makes you wonder what else we write off too fast just because we don't understand the technique.
