inUnpopular opinion: I used to think the crying in apology videos was real, but after watching that one from the pop star last week, I'm not buying it.
Wow, they even timed the fake crying?

inI finally canceled my cable after paying $120 a month for years just to watch the same five shows.

inUpdate: Sudden rash of fridge compressor failures in my neighborhood
Random failures can happen, but when several compressors die in the same week on one block, it's rarely just bad luck. The original post says the power company is doing grid work that causes low voltage, which strains compressors a lot. (Surge protectors are good for spikes, but they won't help with consistently low voltage.) If the power is dipping often, that's a pretty clear common cause.

inClient wanted cheap parts for a Canon AE-1 fix, left me thinking
Wait, why is this even a moral thing? They knew the risk and chose it anyway. You did your job by telling them. It's not like you're putting bad brakes in a car, it's an old camera. If it breaks again, they'll just be out some money, not hurt.

inTIL that building stuff without a plan is actually way more fun, fight me
Heard a painter say the best work often comes from not overthinking it first, which totally fits what you're doing @nelson.seth. They argued the messy start gives you more interesting stuff to work with later. Makes the whole process feel less like a chore and more like solving a cool puzzle.
