inMy nephew pointed out my dad's old dice bag has a story behind every dent
A 14 hour game with a dragon?" That's not a session, that's a whole weekend.

inCustard pie fail turned into a happy accident with coconut
First time I tried something like that was with banana bread. Ran out of brown sugar and used maple syrup instead. Ended up with this weirdly dense, almost fudgy loaf that tasted like a pancake. Now I can't make banana bread the normal way anymore because everyone in my house complains it's too dry.

inJust realized I might be overwatering my clients' trees after a chat with a soil scientist
Yeah that hit me hard too when I heard similar advice. I used to water every Tuesday and Friday without fail, now I dig down a few inches first and it's wild how often the soil is still damp underneath. You're not alone in second guessing everything, pretty sure most of us got trained on old habits that just aren't right.

inShoutout to the fabric store in Portland that saved my project
My local shop owner has never remembered me once in five years of going there. I think the whole "the owner remembers everything" thing is kinda romanticized. It's a nice story but most of those shops are just cluttered and dusty, not magical memory banks.

inTried using a circular saw jig for drawer sides and messed up a whole sheet of plywood
Exactly what I ended up doing. I went to the hardware store and grabbed a roll of that rubber shelf liner for like 3 bucks. Cut a strip the same size as my jig base and it's night and day difference. No more creeping while the router is running. I also started using two quick clamps on the fence instead of one, one at each end, and that alone stopped most of the shifting. Maple ply is too expensive to learn that lesson twice.
